Achieving a true Japandi kitchen in Sheffield requires a delicate balance between the functional minimalism of Scandinavia and the warm, organic soul of Japanese design. With The Conway, designer Simon has created a space that prioritises calm over clutter. By pairing the understated elegance of Light Grey cabinetry with the striking, tactile rhythm of oak feature panelling, this kitchen transcends mere utility to become a sanctuary of modern living.
Bathed in the soft glow of natural light, every element of this design is intended to soothe. The clean lines of the 20mm quartz worktops flow seamlessly into the textured wood finishes, creating a palette that is both sophisticated and deeply grounded. The layout centres around a social island featuring handcrafted oak slatted panelling, providing a natural vertical rhythm that contrasts beautifully with the smooth 20mm bespoke quartz surfaces.
The Conway cabinetry is finished in a sophisticated Light Grey, chosen for its versatility and ability to provide a clean, contemporary backdrop to the organic timber elements. Every detail has been meticulously considered, from the integrated storage solutions to the precision-fitted quartz edges that define the cooking zone. This project is a testament to the “less is more” philosophy, where high-performance durability meets the effortless elegance of British craftsmanship.
