Designing this space wasn’t just about updating a room; it was about creating a magnetic, welcoming focal point for the entire family. By introducing a commanding black island kitchen Harrogate design, Gareth grounded the airy, light-filled architecture with a sense of undeniable, sophisticated drama. Wrapped in the timeless elegance of our Haddon Shaker collection, the surrounding perimeter cabinetry breathes easily, offering a soft, inviting contrast that proves a Slipper Satin and black kitchen is the ultimate expression of modern luxury.
Yet, a truly beautiful room must also possess a soul. For this home, that vibrant heartbeat radiates from the magnificent orange Everhot kitchen setup. Far more than just a place to prepare meals, this brilliant orange range cooker design injects a fiery, magnetic warmth that naturally draws people together. Whether it is pouring a quiet coffee while the house slowly wakes up, or hosting lively evening drinks around the glowing copper pendants, this is a space that doesn’t just look spectacular—it feels profoundly alive.

Precision Craftsmanship & Robust Engineering
To ensure the longevity of this two-tone shaker kitchen in Harrogate, Gareth engineered the space using materials that offer uncompromising durability alongside their high-contrast aesthetic. The layout is anchored by a generous island enveloped in ultra-compact 20mm Dekton worktops. Chosen for its extreme resistance to thermal shock, scratches, and everyday wear, the Dekton provides a flawlessly smooth, non-porous surface that perfectly offsets the deep Pitch Black cabinetry beneath it. The perimeter units, finished in classic Slipper Satin, utilise our traditional Haddon shaker profile—a door style constructed for absolute structural integrity to handle the demands of a busy modern household.
The technical brief also required seamlessly integrating high-performance cooking with intelligent, hidden storage. The iconic Mandarin Orange Everhot acts as the heavy-duty anchor of the cooking zone, requiring exact spatial tolerances and heat-resistant surrounding cabinetry. Beyond the striking exterior, the internal joinery reveals a strict commitment to bespoke functionality. A custom-built, LED-lit pantry features solid oak internal drawers, integrated microwave housing, and tiered door racks, meticulously designed to keep countertop clutter out of sight. Finished with heavy-gauge knurled brass hardware, every mechanical touchpoint in this kitchen is designed to offer a satisfying, tactile experience that will endure for decades.

My goal was to use high-contrast finishes to create a space that feels simultaneously grounded and vibrant. The Pitch Black island gives the room incredible depth, while the Mandarin Orange Everhot serves as an unashamedly bold, fiery focal point. By framing these striking choices with the classic Slipper Satin Haddon cabinetry, we crafted a kitchen that is confident, welcoming, and perfectly suited to modern family life.
